Washington Elementary Hosts STEM Night

Washington held it’s 2nd annual STEM night for families on April 19, 2018.  Students and families were invited in to explore the world of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math through various hands on projects!  Along with informing parents about the district wide emphasis on this area, the teachers wanted to share the excitement that our kids experience on a daily basis with our STEM teacher, Mrs. Schmalzreid and our STEM coach Mr. Dinkel.

Earlier in the day, our students were also able to experience a portable Planaterium provided by Ft. Hays State University through their Science and Math Outreach program which has recently been started.  Students got to experience the solar system virtually while learning new facts about various planets and stars.

A fun day and evening was had by all!
