Fifth Grade

Students standing in a line with backpacks

Dear Fifth Grade Families,

Welcome to Washington Elementary.  We look forward to working with your student this year.

Below you will find the PRIDE Classroom Expectations for 5th grade. Please review the PRIDE expectations with your student regularly.  Positive reinforcements will be given on a daily basis for all students who give best effort.  Logical and natural consequences will be given for those students who do not give best effort or do not follow PRIDE expectations.

Your student is not required to write down assignments in a planner.  However, assignments are listed on the board daily.  Please encourage your student to complete any unfinished class assignments and Read and Responds at home for the following day.  All work is due the following morning, unless otherwise noted.  Incomplete or missing assignments will be graded as a 0% or given a partial credit grade (40% max) based off in-class participation for that specific subject.

If you ever have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call me at school or send a note with your student.  Any phone call dialed during school hours will go directly to a voicemail messaging system.  I will return your call as promptly as possible.  Please be aware that fifth grade teacher plan time is from 11:50-12:50 each day.  Some correspondence may not be addressed until after school or until our next available plan time.  The Washington staff strives to create a learning environment where success can be achieved by all of our students. We are all part of a team that works towards developing successful lifelong learners.

Sincerely,

Washington Elementary Fifth Grade Team
